While it seems heavy, remember that you don\'t have to carry fuel for it. As long as you have a way to start a fire and small sticks, leaves, pine needles, or anything else to burn, you can have a hot meal in minutes. Recently we did a test where we got a fire going and packed the cooker full of small sticks. We then timed how long the fire would burn... it burned hot for 12 minutes without doing anything to it. That is easily enough to boil 2 mugs full of water for coffee, oatmeal or whatever. The cooker works best if you elevate it a little higher off the ground than its feet raise it. You can either set it on small rocks or dig out a little under it. This prevents ash accumulation from cutting off the air from the bottom. A real deal in stoves. ');document.write(' | |
